Defy Medical takes things in the opposite direction, providing a concierge level service with different TRT delivery methods. So, instead of paying for a proprietary dashboard and regular blood draws, you are paying for whichever services you want.

They have one of the most impressive arrays of different delivery methods if you are looking for hormone therapy and with that you get a lot of custom support should you have any issues or questions.

• Prices are based on the services you choose so this pay per service model has no subscription but you average around $250 per month, depending on which medications you choose.

However, again this doesn’t really seem much better than what you get with Lifeforce where consultations are 45 minutes and you get the same type of portal, phone, and chat functions.

Excellent reviews online particularly when it comes to the personalized care you can receive. Maybe you can put a price on happiness.

TRT Nation has transparent and simple pricing. They are very popular because they have a low monthly fee and they make it more affordable to get treatment for hormone issues, particularly TRT. However, they don’t have much else to offer.

Ongoing Support:

Otherwise, you can send a message in the portal but you have limited ongoing support beyond that particularly when it comes to regular blood draws, follow up appointments, and curated recommendations for lifestyle changes and supplements like you get with Lifeforce.

They are really well reviewed with 4.9 stars on places like trustpilot and a B- rating for the Better Business Bureau.

#4 Numan Alternative: HIMS

HIMS is a popular app based option that provides convenient, non-TRT services for things like ED, hair loss, and oral alternatives for testosterone support. They have become very popular because of how easy it is to work with the app, communicate within the app, and have your medications delivered quickly. 

This is a good entry point for anyone who wants basic care without ongoing support, lifestyle planning, or more intense treatments and medications.

Price:

• Prices will vary based on the plan you pick, much like PeterMD. So, if you want enclomiphene, that’s about $100 per month if you pick a 10-month plan.

Ongoing Support:

HIMS is an app-based solution for health. That means most of the website and the interactions are pretty gamified so you have a focus on supplements and oral therapies, which are basically the surface level form of treatment for any condition, whether it’s hormone therapy or TRT or ED. 

So if you just need surface level access and you’re okay with consultations and messaging happening directly from an app, the ongoing support they have is great. But if you want more robust treatment options, you’ll be pretty limited in terms of their ongoing support.

Customer Service:

Customer service leaves…a lot to be desired. Like, a lot. They have 3.3 stars on trustpilot but that’s nothing compared to the F rating they have on their Better Business Bureau page with numerous complaints about cancellation issues and billing issues. Basically it’s super easy to get started and click on the oral supplements you want to be delivered, but it’s pretty hard to get them to cancel. 

#5 Numan Alternative: PeterMD

PeterMD functions similarly to HIMS with a low-cost, entry-level option for TRT. Men who want an alternative to Numan that gives long-term plans can find better support and focus on data-driven care, somewhere between HIMS and Lifeforce.

• Their pricing model is a little convoluted; basically the longer you sign up for the service, the lower your prices will be, so you might start TRT at only $90 per month if you agree to a 12-month plan and that includes your labs and medication.

Pretty impressive customer reviews. They have like over 12,000 reviews on places like trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau pages which speak highly of customer service. (though not as highly about billing).

Ulo is a relatively new option and it’s one that focuses more on hair loss and TRT. The company works as an all-inclusive pricing model so it can be easier to budget for your treatment costs if that is of concern. They have good customer service and it’s a fast, simple setup. 

The downside is it’s a newer company so they don’t have nearly as many wellness options as compared to Hone Health or Lifeforce nor do they have a history as a viable company but eventually they will (probably).

Ulo doesn’t really have a lot of information online. They are a very highly regarded company in wellness magazines and on wellness sites but they don’t have a lot of public reviews yet.

Hone Health works similarly to Lifeforce. They also use data driven insights with blood draws that focus on key biomarkers. However, you have to get that blood draw somewhere else as they don’t have the in person at home service like Lifeforce. 

They work to incorporate wellness plans and supplement recommendations beyond TRT so that you have a comprehensive plan that focuses on longevity. Unfortunately, while they might have some of the same offerings as other options on this list, they don’t have the best customer service review; they have some pretty bad scores.

It is easy to get lost in the mixed feedback you have on the Better Business Bureau here. This company has an F rating because of their communication issues and their billing problems. So if you care about good communication and getting billed properly, this might not be an option for you.
