Remember when you were younger, and you imagined your life as a “grown-up”?
If you were anything like me, you may have imagined mornings being relaxed, like in the commercials. Everyone sits at the table, eating pancakes, bacon, and slowly drinking orange juice?
Life with demanding careers, family, and social activities have caused our society to speed up the morning routines.
But studies show time and time again that breakfast is the most essential meal of the day. It boosts your metabolism, prevents you from giving in to unhealthy options, and boosts your energy throughout the day.
I wish that work hours began about three hours later, after a healthy pot of coffee, and time to devour an amazing breakfast. Unfortunately, for the majority of Americans, this is not a scenario that will become reality any time soon.
I’m so excited to share with you my abbreviated version of the “sit down and smell the fresh morning air” breakfast! I began making it this week and loving how I feel about it.
- 12 ounces of coffee, dark or light roast
- 1-2 scoops of chocolate protein powder – I have been using EAS Chocolate protein powder. The taste is rich, like real chocolate!
- 2 Tablespoons of heavy whipping cream
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
Stir with a fork until the protein powder is nicely mixed into the coffee.
The result?
A healthy, fat & protein packed coffee drink that tastes like a mocha latte!
I’m seriously so incredibly happy with the results of this recipe! It’s delicious, incredibly fast to make, and gives me energy throughout the day.
Someday there will be time for pancakes and bacon…. But today this is perfect!
